Antibody Description:
Monoclonal; mouse anti-human PRL-1,-2, -3 proteins
Accession #s:    Q93096; Q12974; O75365
Gene Names:    TP4A1_HUMAN,  TP4A2_HUMAN; TP4A3_HUMAN
Isotype:
IgG2a
Immunogen:
Recombinant full length PRL-3
Cross-reactivity:
Cross-reactivity with human PRL-1, human PRL-2 and human PRL-3;
Not tested for cross-reactivity in other species
Applications tested:
WB, ELISA
Native Protein:
173 amino acid
Post-translational modification: Farnesylation is required for membrane
targeting
Cellular localization:
Plasma membrane and early endosome.
Function:
Protein tyrosine phosphatase which stimulates progression from G1 into S
phase during mitosis. Enhances cell proliferation, cell motility and invasive
activity, and promotes cancer metastasis. May be involved in the
progression of cardiac hypertrophy by inhibiting intracellular
calcium mobilization in response to angiotensin II.

Catalytic Activity: Protein tyrosine phosphate + H2O = protein tyrosine +
phosphate.

Enzyme activity can be inhibited by sodium orthovanadate and
peroxovanadium compounds,
and by pentamidine.
